3 Years HS Basketball (All-Star 1985 – 1986, All Conference, Top 50 players of MA – 1986, 1986 – Physical Fitness Award – Andover High School, 1985 Andover Volleyball Tournament MVP, 1986 MA HS Slam Dunk champ, 1987 NH Slam Dunk Champ -Word of Life Tournament), 45 inch vertical jump recorded in 1987

3 years College basketball – Gordon College – 19 ppg, 7 rpg as a freshman/sophomore

1 year professional basketball – Athletes in Action – Spain 1990 (Summer Season), runner up slam dunk champ & three point champ, 22 ppg, 5 rpg - Athletes in Action is a Christian centered sport organization where you use your athletic abilities to further the gospel  in poor/underprivileged areas of the world

Personal Training Experience

Doug started his personal training career part-time in 1990 with a passion to help people achieve all their desired fitness goals and encourage them to live a healthier lifestyle.  Today, Doug works  as a personal trainer and works full time  throughout the Palm Beach/Broward area working out of private residences, gyms and recreational facilities through his own entrepreneurial vision, “North East Athletic” which was created in 2010.  Doug hopes to open his own facility someday in South Florida.

Doug’s expertise in the field of fitness, functional training, proper nutrition, strength and conditioning, core training, flexibility, sports/sport injuries and integrating fitness into everyday life activities has helped many get back on their feet and face life with a new sense of motivation and purpose.

Doug is currently certified through NSCA, TRX suspension training, CPR/AED (professional level) and is fully insured.  He is a graduate of the Fitness Institute in Boca Raton under  NSCA co-founder Dr Abbott and his wife Jayne with a concentration on anatomy/physiology, nutrition, exercise science and kinesiology.

Doug lives in Delray Beach with his beautiful and encouraging wife Michelle and their friends Nollie, a 7 year old Australian Shepherd, and Benny, a young Australian Shepherd mix.
